Encuentro Alternativo

Junto con Brian May (guitarrista de Queen) es mi segundo guitarrista favorito, Joe Satriani, considerado por muchos expertos como uno de los guitarristas más técnicos del rock pues según éstos ha conseguido dominar casi todas las técnicas de ejecución de su instrumento. Como si fuera poco, es un reconocido profesor de guitarra y entre sus alumnos se destacan Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Larry LaLonde (Primus, ex-Possessed), el ex-Megadeth, Marty Friedman, entre otros.

Conocí su música cuando tenía 16/17 años y escuché el disco “Live At San Francisco”, un pire mental y eso que la guitarra no es mi instrumento preferido (siempre me ha llamado más la atención el Bajo), pero este disco es una obra de arte, lo mejor de todo, es puramente instrumental.

Esta es una de las canciones que más me gustan de John Lennon, no solo por su música y la melodía en general, sino por que su letra es realmente muy buena:

Esta es una de esas bandas que nunca voy a dejar de escuchar, la escuché cuando tenía 15 años por primera vez (8 años atrás) cuando un compañero me presto el disco “Sic”, al otro día se lo iba a devolver por que realmente no me gustaba, la verdad no se lo di ese día y lo escuché nuevamente. Me pasó lo que me pasa muchas veces con algunos discos, para realmente entender y escuchar realmente su música tenés que escucharlo varias veces, con detenimiento.

Luego de eso, me fascinó esta banda de 9 personas tocando una música tan violenta. No va con la música que escucho hoy en día en general, pero es una de las pocas bandas de metal que sigo escuchando, no es metal propiamente, es una mezcla de rap y metal en muchas de sus interpretaciones (Spit it out es un ejemplo). Cuando encuentro algún video interesante, tengo que mostrarlo a todos, y este merece la pena, por que es tal cual, hecho se ve para la sociedad argentina, pero también se aplica a la uruguaya en muchísimos casos, vean:

Este canción se llama “Is This The World We Created?”, el video es del recital Wembley ‘86, es una canción super sencilla pues como verán solo tiene una guitarra común y corriente, la melodía de la guitarra es excelente, interpretada por Brian May, y la voz de Freddie Mercury, sin igual. Me encanta el grito que pega alguien en el minuto 2.52′ casi al final

Escuchar esta canción me eriza la piel al instante, es una de las canciones más melancólicas del disco A Kind Of Magic (1986), y quizás ya marcaba una despedida anticipada de Freddie Mercury, canción en la que podemos una vez más maravillarnos con su inigualable voz.

Antes de que digan algo, esto NO apunta en ningún momento a la política o sucesos de la Revolución Cubana, así que no den mucha bola a las imágenes del video, la verdad fue el único que pude encontrar en el que la canción esta tomada desde el disco y se puede escuchar perfectamente. A eso apunto, escuchar esta canción de Silvio Rodriguez titulada Playa Giron.

Nunca pensé que esta música popular cubana pudiera llegar a gustarme, pero termino reconociendo que mis gustos están variando bastante! y en este caso, no sólo me llegó este artista por su música, sino también por el contenido humanista de sus letras.

Buscando videos sobre informática en Youtube, caí con este video que me llamó la atención. Seguro alguna vez han oído sobre la Defcon , el mayor evento hacker del mundo. Este es un resumen hecho por una cadena argentina, que nos brinda más detalles sobre cómo es por dentro, qué temas se tratan, qué gente se puede encontrar, etc. Realmente muy interesante.
